Attention Sriracha enthusiasts, brace yourselves for potential news of another shortage of your beloved condiment.
Huy Fong Foods, the renowned Irwindale-based maker of Sriracha sauce, has announced a halt in production until after Labor Day, as reported by USA Today.
The reason behind this temporary shutdown? The red jalapeno chile peppers used in the sauce are not meeting the desired color standards. This discrepancy in color could potentially alter the taste of the iconic sauce.
To address this issue, the company plans to resume production after Labor Day, coinciding with the start of the next chili season.
Since its inception in 1980, Huy Fong’s Sriracha has garnered a dedicated following, recognized by its distinctive green-capped bottles adorned with a signature rooster logo.
