Donald Trump’s youngest son, Barron, is stepping into the political spotlight. At 18, he’s graduating from high school this year and has just been selected to play a formal role in the upcoming Republican National Convention. The Republican Party of Florida has named Barron as one of their at-large delegates, which means he’ll be among the 125 Florida representatives casting votes for Trump at the convention in Milwaukee this July.
Although he was just a child during his father’s first campaigns and presidency, Barron Trump has generally stayed out of the public eye. This convention appearance marks his first major foray into the national political scene.
The Florida GOP unveiled the list of delegates on Wednesday evening, and it includes several familiar Trump family names. Along with Barron, Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump, and Tiffany Trump (now Tiffany Boulos) are on the list. Eric Trump, in fact, is set to chair Florida’s delegation.
Florida GOP Chair Evan Power highlighted the collective strength of the group in a statement, saying, “We are fortunate to have a great group of grassroots leaders, elected officials, and members of the Trump family working together as part of the Florida delegation.”
The Trump family has become a dominant force in the Republican Party, reshaping it in the image of the former president and his “Make America Great Again” (MAGA) movement.
Other notable delegates from Florida include Attorney General Ashley Moody, Agriculture Commissioner Wilton Simpson, former Attorney General Pam Bondi, major GOP donor Ike Perlmutter, and Kimberly Guilfoyle, who is in a relationship with Donald Trump Jr.
