Samsung continues its tradition of promptly adopting the latest Android version from Google. With the release of the Android 15 beta, Samsung has already begun work on developing One UI 7.
Currently in the beta phase, Android 15 introduces several changes aimed at enhancing user experience, such as adjustments to dark mode in apps and the addition of features like NFC wireless charging.
The latest iteration of Android 15 Beta 1 includes minor tweaks like Wi-Fi privacy settings, Pixel Weather app widgets, and the option to switch default wallet apps. These changes contribute to the overall improvement of the Android interface without drastically altering the UI.
As expected, Samsung is poised to integrate many of these enhancements into its own software. Recent activity on Samsung’s servers indicates that One UI 7, identified as S928BXXU2BXE2, is under development. This firmware version suggests a significant update to One UI rather than a minor upgrade. One UI 7 appears to be undergoing testing specifically for the Galaxy S24, which aligns with Samsung’s typical release patterns.
While the current focus of beta development seems to be in Europe, a broader rollout can be expected once Samsung is ready to launch the software. Samsung typically initiates releases in Korea before expanding to the US and Europe over time.
It may still take some time before Samsung opens the beta to Galaxy users on the S24 series. As the beta progresses, we will learn more about the features that One UI 7 brings to Galaxy devices compared to Pixel devices running Android 15 beta.
