Comcast is set to expand its network across Pennsylvania, receiving over $61 million from the state to reach more homes and businesses, including those in Blair and Cambria Counties.
Chosen as part of the Broadband Infrastructure Program, funded by the Capital Projects Fund (CPF), Comcast will extend its network to 158 municipalities across 13 counties in Pennsylvania.
This expansion aims to provide gigabit-plus speeds to areas previously lacking high-speed internet access. As the network grows, Comcast’s range of services, including Xfinity Internet, TV and Streaming, Mobile, and Comcast Business Internet and Mobile, will become available across the state.
Ricky Frazier Jr., Senior Vice President of Comcast’s Keystone Region based in Pennsylvania, expressed excitement about reaching more Pennsylvanians with their superior network and enabling them to access the digital economy. Frazier noted the strong community interest in Xfinity and Comcast Business services and looks forward to meeting that demand.
The counties included in the expansion are Adams, Beaver, Berks, Blair, Cambria, Chester, Cumberland, Indiana, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Washington, Wyoming, and York.
Residents and businesses can expect more information on construction timelines and future service availability once the projects commence.
