The upcoming Academy of Country Music Awards, scheduled for May 16, is adding some extra star power to its performance roster with the inclusion of two prominent artists from outside the country genre: Post Malone and Noah Kahan.
It appears that Malone will be taking the stage solo during the ACM Awards, while Kahan is set to join female artist of the year nominee Kelsea Ballerini for a special duet.
Despite not releasing a new album recently, Malone has been making waves across various music genres, including pop and even country. Over the past three months, he’s collaborated with some of the biggest names in the music industry, including Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, and Morgan Wallen. Additionally, Malone’s performance of classic country covers at Stagecoach garnered significant attention. Although he released an album just a year ago, rumors suggest that he may have new music in the works for later this year.
Meanwhile, Kahan’s album “Stick Season” has maintained a strong position on the album charts, currently sitting at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 chart, marking its 75th week since release.
In addition to Malone and Kahan, Avril Lavigne has also been added to the lineup. Lavigne will be performing a duet with best new male artist nominee Nate Smith.
Another notable duo set to perform at the awards show is Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani.
Previously announced performers include Jason Aldean, Kane Brown, Jelly Roll, Cody Johnson, Miranda Lambert, Thomas Rhett, Chris Stapleton, Lainey Wilson, and host Reba McEntire.
The 59th annual ACM Awards will be exclusively streamed on Prime Video, with no subscription required to watch. The event will broadcast live from Frisco, Texas, on May 16 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.
