Post-Credits Scene Check-In: Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes (No Spoilers)

The Planet of the Apes saga is still going strong after all these years. In the latest installment, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, we’re taken centuries ahead of the events in 2017’s War for the Planet of the Apes. Here, we follow the journey of Caesar’s descendant, Noa, as he navigates a world where human civilization is a distant memory.

Starting this Friday, IGN will delve into the ending of Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes and what it might imply for future sequels. Make sure to check back then for more insights. But before you head to the theater, there’s one burning question to address.

Does Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes Feature Any Post-Credits Scenes?
As mentioned earlier, there are no mid-credits or post-credits scenes in this latest Planet of the Apes installment. You’re free to leave once the credits roll, though it’s always nice to stick around and show appreciation for the talented cast and crew behind the film.

The absence of post-credits scenes isn’t unexpected, as they haven’t been a regular feature in the recent reboot series. The only exception was 2011’s Rise of the Planet of the Apes, which included a scene hinting at the effects of the ALZ-113 pandemic.

Stay tuned for IGN’s in-depth analysis of the Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes ending this Friday.

In IGN’s review of Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, Eric Goldman gave the sequel an 8 out of 10, noting, “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes may not delve into the same emotional complexity as its predecessors, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes or War for the Planet of the Apes, nor does it aim to deliver the same gut-punching impact. However, as the series transitions into its post-Caesar era under Disney’s ownership, it remains remarkably solid. Advancing the timeline was a wise move, allowing director Wes Ball to explore a vastly different world while screenwriter Josh Friedman embraces a more adventurous tone. This may be a different take on the Planet of the Apes, but it still feels in line with what came before.”
