Operation leads to drug arrest: Crime Roundup

A man from Farmville was arrested after a month-long investigation into drug sales, according to the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office. In a news release, the agency stated that on May 2, detectives from its Special Operations Unit and the Gang and Guns Crime Unit stopped a vehicle on Askew Road in Greenville. During a search of the vehicle, officers found narcotics and cash.

Solomon Ferreria Alves, 32, from Farmville, was arrested and charged with possession with the intent to sell/deliver cocaine, possession with the intent to sell/deliver marijuana, and maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance. He also had an active warrant from the Greenville Police Department for possession of a stolen gun. Alves was booked into the Pitt County Detention Center and released on May 3 after posting a $50,000 secured bond. He has previous drug-related and other convictions in Pitt County dating back to 2009.

Break-ins and Thefts:
– In the 3900 block of Kimberly Lane, at 9:22 a.m. on May 3, a license plate valued at $25 was stolen from a residence. The case is inactive.
– In the 5900 block of West Lang Street, at 11 a.m. on May 4, a grill valued at $50 was stolen from a residence. The case has been cleared.
– Between 5 a.m. on April 29 and 2 p.m. on May 4, in the 2500 block of Old River Road, there was a break-in at a residence. An AC unit valued at $100 and a television valued at $200 were stolen. This case is active.
– In the 500 block of Shivers Lane, between 11:01 a.m. on April 30 and 11:02 a.m. on May 5, a fraud incident involving $245 was reported. The case is inactive.
– At the 3921 Bell Arthur Road location, at 3:27 p.m. on May 5, cigarettes valued at $133 were stolen from a Duck Thru. This case is active.
– In the 300 block of Los Alamitos Lane, at 4:16 p.m. on May 5, a chainsaw valued at $200 and a weed eater valued at $250 were stolen from a residence. The case is active.
– In the 2100 block of N.C. 33 West, at 7:14 p.m. on May 5, there was a break-in at a residence. This case is active.
– In the 5400 block of U.S. 264 East, at 8:58 a.m. on May 6, a vehicle was broken into. Cash worth $40 and perfume valued at $100 were stolen. The case is active.
– In the 2100 block of Esther Circle, at 11:44 a.m. on May 6, air conditioner units valued at $650 were stolen from a residence. This case is active.
– In the 300 block of West Washington Street in Bethel, at 1:48 p.m. on May 6, a fraud incident involving $1,000 was reported. This case is active.
– In the 500 block of Burruss Place, at 3:25 p.m. on May 6, a break-in at a residence occurred, with tools valued at $1,240 stolen. This case is active.
– In the 2800 block of Hines Road, at 5:51 p.m. on May 6, a vehicle was broken into at a residence. This case is active.
– In the 2900 block of Ruth Drive, at 10:02 p.m. on May 6, a break-in at a residence occurred. The case has been closed by arrest.

Assaults:
– In the 2100 block of Gracewood Drive, at 7:19 a.m. on May 3, a man was assaulted by his girlfriend at a residence. This case has been closed by arrest.
– In the 600 block of Danielle Drive, at 9:51 p.m. on May 3, a man was assaulted by his ex-partner at a residence. This case has been cleared.
– In the 1800 block of Tupelo Lane, at 10:43 p.m. on May 3, a woman was assaulted by a stranger at a residence. This case is active.
– In the 2300 block of Durwood Pollard Road, at 4:40 a.m. on May 4, a man was assaulted by his ex-partner at a residence. This case is active.
– In the 5900 block of Acorn Road, at 11:06 a.m. on May 4, a woman was assaulted by an unknown person at a residence. This case has been closed by arrest.
– At 431 Queen St. in Grifton, at 9:15 p.m. on May 4, a man was assaulted by an unknown person at a Speedway gas station. This case is active.
– In the 2000 block of Corbett Avenue, at 3:33 a.m. on May 5, a woman was assaulted by an unknown person at a residence. This case is active.
– In the 3700 block of James Street in Bethel, at 1:55 a.m. on May 6, a man was assaulted by an unknown person at a residence. This case is active.

– At 210 S.W. Greenville Blvd., at 7:32 a.m. on May 4, a larceny occurred at Walmart. The case status is unknown.
– At 2403 N. Memorial Drive, at 5:25 p.m. on May 4, a larceny occurred at Exxon. The case status is unknown.
– At 1301 W. Arlington Blvd., at 1 a.m. on May 5, a larceny occurred at Circle K. The case status is unknown.
– In the 1200 block of Fleming Street, at 7:26 a.m. on May 5, there was a break-in at a residence. The case status is unknown.
– In the 3400 block of Blue Heron Drive, at 1:57 p.m. on May 5, there was a vehicle break-in. The case status is unknown.
– At 4600 E. 10th St., at 7:45 p.m. on May 5, there was a larceny at Walmart. The case status is unknown.
– At 2195 Evans St., at 9:56 p.m. on May 5, there was a larceny at Circle K. The case status is unknown.
