Jennifer Lopez is taking on a new role in the entertainment world by producing an animated film based on the popular children’s series Bob The Builder. Collaborating with Anthony Ramos, star of In The Heights, Lopez’s production company Nuyorican Productions is bringing the beloved character to life on the big screen. Ramos will not only lend his voice to Bob but also co-produce the film alongside Alex Bulkley and Corey Campodonico from ShadowMachine.
The movie will follow Bob as he tackles a major construction project in Puerto Rico, addressing important issues impacting the island while exploring the true essence of building. With the aim of celebrating the rich cultures of the Caribbean and Latin nations, the film promises to be an uplifting and engaging adventure for audiences of all ages.
This exciting project is a joint effort between Nuyorican Productions, Mattel Films, and ShadowMachine. Written by Felipe Vargas, the screenplay will be brought to life under the guidance of Kevin McKeon, Ivan Sanchez, and Arturo Thur De Koós for Mattel, along with Natalie Haack Flores for Nuyorican.
In addition to Bob The Builder, Mattel Films has several other exciting projects in development, including adaptations of Barney, Hot Wheels, and Polly Pocket, as they aim to replicate the success of the iconic Barbie franchise.
Meanwhile, Jennifer Lopez is gearing up for the release of her highly anticipated album, This Is Me… Now, alongside an accompanying Amazon Prime Video musical titled This Is Me… Now: A Love Story. With an ensemble cast featuring the likes of Fat Joe, Trevor Noah, and Sofia Vergara, the musical promises to be a deeply personal and introspective journey for Lopez.
Scheduled to premiere on February 16, the musical will delve into Lopez’s personal experiences and relationships, offering fans a glimpse into her past and present. As she shared the trailer on Instagram, Lopez expressed her excitement and nervousness about sharing this intimate story with her devoted fans.
