Gru and his crew are back for another round of mischief in “Despicable Me 4,” and they’re bringing along some fresh faces.
During the AFC championship game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens, Illumination and Universal dropped a trailer spot for the upcoming animated summer blockbuster, unveiling the full cast and plot details.
Joining the beloved franchise are big-name stars like Will Ferrell, Sofia Vergara, Joey King, Stephen Colbert, Chloe Fineman from Saturday Night Live, and newcomer Madison Poland, lending her voice to one of Gru’s daughters. Familiar favorites such as Pierre Coffin, Kristen Wiig, Miranda Cosgrove, Dana Gaier, and Steve Coogan are also returning to the voice cast.
In this latest adventure, Gru, voiced by Steve Carell, faces new challenges as he welcomes a new addition to the family while dealing with a mischievous nemesis, Maxime Le Mal, played by Ferrell, and his girlfriend, voiced by Vergara. The story promises plenty of laughs and action as Gru and his quirky crew embark on a thrilling escapade.
Scheduled to hit theaters on July 3, “Despicable Me 4” follows the success of its predecessors, including the billion-dollar grosser “Despicable Me 3” and the impressive box office performance of “Minions: The Rise of Gru.”
