Samsung has just announced a major update for Galaxy users: the Galaxy AI features are expanding to more devices with the new One UI 6.1 update. This update aims to make mobile AI more accessible to everyone and is scheduled to roll out to devices such as the Galaxy S23 series, S23 FE, Z Fold5, Z Flip5, and Tab S9 series starting at the end of March.
TM Roh, President and Head of Mobile eXperience Business at Samsung Electronics, stated, “Our goal with Galaxy AI is not only to pioneer a new era of mobile AI but also to empower users by making AI more accessible.” Samsung aims to reach over 100 million Galaxy users with this AI experience by 2024.
With this update, users can enjoy a range of communication-enhancing features. These include adjusting message tones, translating messages into 13 languages using Chat Assist, and real-time voice and text translations for phone calls with Live Translate. There’s also an Interpreter feature for text translations during live conversations.
On the productivity front, the integration of Galaxy AI across devices improves search functions, offers organization features like Note Assist and Browsing Assist, and simplifies tasks like transcribing meeting recordings with Transcript Assist.
For creative users, the update introduces Generative Edit for easy photo resizing and repositioning, Edit Suggestion for quick photo editing, and Instant Slow-mo for capturing action-packed moments in slow-motion videos.
Users can also personalize their Galaxy devices with AI-generated wallpapers.
