Pro-Palestinian activists staged an unexpected protest during President Joe Biden’s stay at a San Francisco hotel, breaching the typically secure space surrounding the president.
Reporters accompanying Biden revealed that a group of around 20 to 30 protesters entered the hotel lobby, loudly chanting slogans such as “Biden Biden you can’t hide, we charge you with genocide.” Their demands encompassed an immediate ceasefire and an end to U.S. aid to Israel, which they emphasized with a prominently displayed banner reading: “Stop funding genocide: End all U.S. aid to Israel.”
The demonstrators proceeded to march throughout the property, their voices echoing down hallways and past occupied rooms. Although it remains unclear how close they ventured to Biden’s quarters, their presence inside the president’s temporary residence marked a rare breach of the typically controlled environment.
This demonstration forms part of a broader wave of protests against Biden’s management of the Gaza conflict, with previous gatherings taking place outside the White House and the president’s residence in Delaware.
