Sharon Osbourne is revealing the struggles she faced during a challenging period in her life. In 2016, upon discovering her husband Ozzy Osbourne’s four-year affair with hairdresser Michelle Pugh, the 71-year-old went through such emotional turmoil that she attempted suicide.
During a recent on-stage interview in London with journalist Jane Moore, Sharon candidly discussed the impact of Ozzy’s affair, stating, “He always had groupies, and I was so used to that. But when he knows the name of the person, where they live and where they work…it is a whole different thing as you are emotionally invested. I took, I don’t know how many pills.”
Feeling that her children were older and capable of taking care of themselves, Sharon admitted to taking an overdose and locking herself in the bedroom. The housemaid discovered her during an attempt to clean the room.
The quotes were confirmed by a representative for Sharon Osbourne, and attempts to get comments from Michelle Pugh and Ozzy’s representative have been unsuccessful.
In 2016, the couple briefly separated following the revelation of Ozzy’s affair, with the rockstar admitting to being a sex addict. Sharon discussed Ozzy’s journey in overcoming sex addiction during an appearance on The Talk in August of that year.
Reflecting on the situation in 2020, Ozzy expressed regret for his actions, stating, “I regret cheating on my wife. I don’t do it anymore. I got my reality check, and I’m lucky she didn’t leave me. I’m not proud of that. I was pissed off with myself. But I broke her heart.”
Despite the challenges, Sharon has managed to rebuild her life. In a September interview with E! News, she emphasized the effort required in any relationship and the importance of accepting one’s partner for who they are. Sharon noted, “No relationship is easy,” and emphasized that understanding and accepting both the good and bad aspects is crucial when you love someone.
