Fans got a surprise treat when Ryan Gosling and Mikey Day revived their beloved Beavis and Butt-Head personas at the Los Angeles premiere of Gosling’s latest film, The Fall Guy.
The actor, accompanied by co-star Emily Blunt, initially hit the red carpet in a stylish mint-green Gucci suit. But later, Gosling returned in a striking transformation.
Gosling and Day delighted attendees by posing as live-action versions of Beavis and Butt-Head, complete with wigs and themed shirts. Gosling sported a blonde wig and a shirt reading “Death Rock,” while Day rocked a gray shirt with “Skull” emblazoned on it.
Their reprisal of the iconic characters comes after their successful portrayal on Saturday Night Live. During Gosling’s third hosting stint on April 13, the duo debuted their hilarious Beavis and Butt-Head sketch. The skit went viral, amassing over 13 million views on YouTube.
In the SNL sketch, Heidi Gardner played a news anchor interviewing a professor (Kenan Thompson) about artificial intelligence. However, the interview was constantly interrupted by the distracting presence of two audience members, Dean (played by Gosling) and Jeff (played by Day), who bore an uncanny resemblance to Beavis and Butt-Head. Despite their resemblance, the characters denied any knowledge of it.
The sketch had memorable moments, including Gardner breaking character when addressing Gosling and Day, and Gosling struggling to contain his laughter throughout.
It was a hilarious blast from the past that left fans buzzing.
