Amazon Claims ‘Fallout’ Nabs 65 Million Viewers in First Two Weeks of Availability

Amazon Prime Video’s “Fallout” has proven to be a massive success for the streaming platform, with an impressive 65 million viewers tuning in during its first 16 days of availability. The series, which debuted its first season on April 10, is now the second most-watched title ever on Amazon Prime Video, following the debut of “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” in 2022.

Notably, “Fallout” has captured the attention of audiences worldwide, with 60% of its viewership coming from outside the United States. Countries like the UK, France, and Brazil have emerged as key hubs for the show’s popularity. While Amazon has not provided specific details on how viewership is measured, such as whether it includes completion of episodes or the entire season, the series has clearly resonated with a broad audience.

Critically acclaimed, “Fallout” holds an impressive 94% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Reviewer Aramide Tinubu described the show as “Bizarre but intensely fun,” noting its unique and captivating storytelling.

With its success, Amazon has already greenlit “Fallout” for a second season. Based on the popular video game franchise, the series is set in a post-apocalyptic world, following the inhabitants of luxury fallout shelters as they navigate a dangerous and unpredictable landscape.

Led by Ella Purnell, the cast also includes Aaron Moten, Kyle MacLachlan, Walton Goggins, and many others. The creators and executive producers, Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner, along with executive producers Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy of Kilter Films, have crafted a compelling and highly anticipated series.
