Sony Xperia 1 VI leak reveals specs, camera details, and more

Sony has managed to keep a tight lid on information about the upcoming Xperia 1 VI, but a recent report sheds light on what we can expect. According to sources at MSPoweruser, details have emerged about the device’s camera, audio, design, display, performance, battery life, gaming features, and owner perks.

Starting with the design, the Xperia 1 VI may sport frosted textured glass on the back, reminiscent of previous models. The device could come in Black and Platinum Silver color options, with a possible return of the Khaki Green variant.

Rumors suggest a shorter and wider form factor, with an OLED display featuring variable refresh rates ranging from 1Hz to 120Hz. The screen may lose its 4K resolution but could be 1.5 times brighter with features like an outdoor visibility booster and BRAVIA HDR remaster technology.

The rear camera setup might include ultrawide, wide-angle, and telephoto lenses, each with impressive capabilities. Sony is reportedly streamlining its camera apps into a single interface inspired by its Alpha series cameras. New additions like human pose estimation technology and a Video Creator app are expected.

Under the hood, the Xperia 1 VI could run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, promising improved performance and heat management. A 5,000mAh battery with wireless charging and upgraded battery health technology is rumored, along with enhancements to audio quality and a return of the 3.5mm headphone jack.

Gaming features include a 240Hz touch scanning rate and optimizations for smoother gameplay. Additionally, buyers may receive a year of free Sony Pictures movie streaming and access to remastered Sony movie titles optimized for the handset.

Overall, the Xperia 1 VI appears to offer a compelling package with upgrades across various aspects, catering to photography enthusiasts, audio aficionados, gamers, and movie lovers alike.
