Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green, known for his own on-court antics, recently addressed the controversies surrounding Milwaukee Bucks guard Patrick Beverley on his podcast.
In an episode of The Draymond Green Show, Green expressed his concerns, stating, “Pat, you can’t keep having these moments, man, at the end of these losses.” He compared Beverley’s actions to a child who threatens to leave the game when things don’t go their way.
Beverley made headlines during the Bucks’ season-ending loss to the Indiana Pacers for throwing a basketball at a fan behind Milwaukee’s bench, which Green described as opening “an entirely different can of worms.” Green noted that such behavior is forbidden in the NBA and predicted potential repercussions from Commissioner Adam Silver.
Adding to Beverley’s troubles, he refused to answer a reporter’s question in the locker room, insisting that she leave the scrum because she hadn’t subscribed to his podcast.
Reflecting on the incident, Green highlighted his appreciation for the NBA’s support of podcasts but emphasized the need for professionalism in handling media interactions.
As Beverley faces unrestricted free agency this offseason, his actions on Thursday may result in a suspension at the beginning of the next season if he finds a new NBA home.
