Google has just introduced the Pixel 8a, and it’s rolling out some enticing trade-in offers through the Google Store. For those eyeing an upgrade from a previous Pixel A-Series device, Google has some attractive deals lined up for the Pixel 8a.
Trade-in promotions have become a popular method for smartphone upgrades in recent years, and the Pixel 8a is no exception. Google is offering up to $500 off the Pixel 8a with select trades, effectively making the device free in some cases. The trade-in values vary, but the highest returns are typically offered for iPhones. For instance, trading in an iPhone 14 Pro Max guarantees a $499 credit, regardless of the storage capacity.
While the best trade-in values at the Google Store are typically reserved for high-end devices, there are still solid deals to be found with previous Pixel A-Series models. Trading in a Pixel 7a will net you $200, while a Pixel 6a fetches $180. Considering these devices often sell for less than $250 on the secondhand market, Google’s offer presents a convenient and worthwhile upgrade option.
Even the Pixel 4a, which is no longer receiving updates, is eligible for a $160 trade-in value, making it a particularly enticing offer. Google is also offering $175 for the OnePlus 9 Pro, which comes as a pleasant surprise.
For those considering pre-ordering the Pixel 8a, Best Buy has yet to launch its trade-in program for the device. However, the retailer is currently offering a $100 gift card and $100 off when activating with a carrier, making it one of the best deals available.
As for other retailers, Amazon is providing a $100 gift card with the Pixel 8a purchase, albeit without a trade-in option.
The Pixel 8a is set to begin shipping on May 14. To learn more about the device, check out our hands-on review.
