A bit of turbulence hit American Airlines flight 271 as it landed at Kahului Airport in Hawaii from Los Angeles (LAX) to Maui (OGG) last Saturday. The airline spilled the beans, sharing that the plane encountered a snag during landing, causing injuries to one passenger and five flight attendants.
Despite the bumpy landing, the Airbus A320 managed to taxi to the gate on its own, and passengers got off as usual. The injured folks were taken to the hospital but are now out and about. The flight had 167 passengers and seven crew members on board.
American Airlines wants everyone to know that they’ve got safety as their number one priority. The wounded plane has been taken out of commission for a detailed check-up by the maintenance team.
Confirming the not-so-smooth landing, Hawaii’s transportation department spilled the tea. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is now on the case, announcing an investigation into the incident. According to the FAA, the Airbus A320 made a hard landing on Runway 20 at Kahului Airport around 2 p.m. local time.
For any passenger gossip, the FAA pointed fingers at the airline. They’ll be digging deep to figure out what caused the rough landing.
