Apple is unveiling a new Apple Watch Pride Edition Braided Solo Loop, a matching watch face, and dynamic wallpapers for iOS and iPadOS to support LGBTQ+ communities worldwide. The Pride Edition Braided Solo Loop will be available for order starting May 22, along with the release of the matching watch face and wallpapers in an upcoming software update. This collection celebrates the diversity and vibrancy of LGBTQ+ communities by allowing customization of the watch face and wallpapers with a spectrum of colors.
Apple’s Pride Collection continues its support for LGBTQ+ advocacy organizations such as ILGA World and the Human Rights Campaign. Other supported organizations include Encircle, Equality North Carolina, GLSEN, and The Trevor Project, among others.
The Pride Edition Braided Solo Loop features a colorful design inspired by multiple pride flags, with a laser-etched lug that reads “PRIDE 2024.” The inclusion of black and brown colors represents Black, Hispanic, and Latin communities, as well as those affected by HIV/AIDS, while pink, light blue, and white hues symbolize transgender and nonbinary individuals.
The new Pride Radiance watch face and wallpapers bring bold colors to Apple Watch, iPhone, and iPad, symbolizing hope, strength, and solidarity within LGBTQ+ communities. Users can personalize their watch face and wallpapers with a spectrum of colors, and the colors on the watch face react in real time to wrist movement.
The Pride Edition Braided Solo Loop will be available for $99 (U.S.) on apple.com and in the Apple Store app from May 22. It comes in 41mm and 45mm sizes and is compatible with Apple Watch SE and Apple Watch Series 4 or later. The Pride Radiance watch face and wallpapers will be available soon with watchOS 10.5, iOS 17.5, and iPadOS 17.5, and customers can download the watch face through the Apple Watch app or on apple.com.
