On Wednesday afternoon, two police officers from North County will be honored alongside other law enforcement personnel from across Santa Barbara County. The event, hosted by the Santa Barbara Citizens Council on Crime, will take place in the County Board of Supervisors Hearing Room on the fourth floor of the County Administration Building at 105 E. Anapamu St. in Santa Barbara. The ceremony is set for 4:30 p.m.
Among the honorees are Santa Maria Police Department Cpl. Stephen Best and Lompoc Police Department Sgt. Vincent Magallon, both of whom will receive Superior Performance Awards. Notably, Cpl. Best, who specializes in high-tech crimes, was also recently named Officer of the Year for 2023 by the Santa Maria Police Department.
In addition, Sgt. Matthew Delgado and Sr. Deputy Dustin Winebrenner from the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office, Officer Ronald Hensic Jr. and Officer Toby Hall from the California Highway Patrol, and Sr. Deputy Probation Officer Jon Vittone from the County Probation Department will also be awarded Superior Performance Awards.
The event will conclude with the presentation of the H. Thomas Guerry Award for Valor to Officer Sean Zosimo of the Santa Barbara Police Department.
