The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has intensified efforts to bring the perpetrators to justice, offering an additional $10,000 to the existing reward fund, which now totals $36,000 thanks to contributions from various animal rights groups.
The tragic killings occurred along a 50-mile stretch of Interstate 15 in the Mojave Desert, leaving a trail of devastation and prompting widespread outrage. Federal investigators, determined to crack the case, have uncovered crucial clues linking vehicles and weapons from the crime scene to the shootings.
Detailed evidence left behind by the perpetrators, including uniquely painted ammunition cartridges and descriptions of two vehicles of interest, has provided valuable leads for investigators. Surveillance footage captured both vehicles traveling together, with the last sighting recorded in Primm, Nevada.
Further analysis by agents has identified the weapon used as a .30-06 caliber rifle, potentially vintage, based on recovered projectiles. The ammunition used appears to have been reloaded and marked with distinctive red/orange paint on the bottom of the cartridges, indicating a level of premeditation in the crime.
