The next episode of “True Detective: Night Country” will be available for early streaming on Max from Feb. 9 at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT, strategically avoiding the competition with the Super Bowl on Sunday night. If you can’t catch it early, don’t worry—the show will still have its HBO linear premiere on Feb. 11 at 9 p.m. ET/PT, going head-to-head with the Big Game.
The series, starring Jodie Foster, Kali Reis, Finn Bennett, and Fiona Shaw, boasts an ensemble cast featuring Christopher Eccleston, Isabella Star LaBlanc, John Hawkes, Anna Lambe, Aka Niviâna, and Joel D. Montgrand as guest stars. The show is led by showrunner, writer, and director Issa López, with an impressive executive production team including Foster, Mari Jo Winkler, Barry Jenkins, Adele Romanski, and Mark Ceryak for Pastel.
Switching gears, Apple TV+ has released the trailer for the upcoming comedy series “The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin,” where Noel Fielding takes on the role of the legendary British highwayman. The series kicks off on March 1, and subsequent episodes will be released every Friday through March 29. Follow Dick Turpin on his wildly absurd escapades as he reluctantly leads a band of outlaws, outsmarting corrupt lawman Jonathan Wilde, played by Hugh Bonneville.
The star-studded cast includes Ellie White, Marc Wootton, Duayne Boachie, Tamsin Greig, Asim Chaudhry, Dolly Wells, Joe Wilkinson, Mark Heap, Geoff McGivern, Michael Fielding, Samuel Leakey, and Kiri Flaherty. The series is a collaboration between Apple Studios and Big Talk Studios, created by Claire Downes, Ian Jarvis, and Stuart Lane.
In addition, Apple TV+ has teased the upcoming series “Palm Royale,” set to debut on March 20. Starring Kristen Wiig, Laura Dern, Allison Janney, and Ricky Martin, the series tells a true underdog story set in Palm Beach high society in 1969.
The ensemble cast of “Palm Royale” includes Josh Lucas, Leslie Bibb, Amber Chardae Robinson, Mindy Cohn, Julia Duffy, Kaia Gerber, and special recurring star Carol Burnett. Loosely based on Juliet McDaniel’s novel “Mr. and Mrs. American Pie,” the series is written, executive produced, and showrun by Abe Sylvia.
Meanwhile, the return of “The Reluctant Traveler With Eugene Levy” is set for March 8 on Apple TV+. Levy embarks on a European ground tour, uncovering hidden local gems, exploring his family tree, and expanding his culinary horizons. Produced by Twofour, the travel series consists of seven episodes.
On another note, Apple TV+ has released the Season 2 trailer for “The Reluctant Traveler With Eugene Levy,” returning with a two-episode premiere on March 8. Additional episodes will debut weekly through April 12. The seven-episode season follows Levy’s ground tour of Europe, discovering hidden local gems, exploring his family tree, and attempting to broaden his taste buds.
The streaming service has also unveiled the first trailer for its new true crime series, “Manhunt,” featuring Tobias Menzies. Created by Monica Beletsky, the series is based on the nonfiction book about the hunt for John Wilkes Booth after Abraham Lincoln’s assassination. The cast includes Anthony Boyle, Lovie Simone, Will Harrison, Brandon Flynn, and others.
Monica Beletsky, Franklin, Layne Eskridge, and Kate Barry serve as executive producers. The series is set to premiere globally on Apple TV+, with the first two episodes airing on March 15 and subsequent episodes released weekly on Fridays through April 19.
