Erin Moriarty, known for her role in “The Boys,” has hit back at claims made by Megyn Kelly about plastic surgery, slamming them as “completely untrue.”
Taking to Instagram on Friday, Moriarty addressed Kelly’s comments from her podcast, “The Megyn Kelly Show,” where Kelly discussed Moriarty’s appearance and speculated about plastic surgery based on a viral Instagram photo.
Moriarty expressed her shock and dismay at the situation, especially as she was going through a tough time personally. She clarified that the comparison photo used by Kelly was from years ago and emphasized the role of makeup and contouring in her appearance on the day in question.
Feeling overwhelmed by negative comments and harassment, Moriarty decided to disable comments on her post and announced her departure from Instagram, citing the hurtful allegations and verbal attacks she had faced.
She directly called out Kelly and Fox News, expressing her disappointment and branding the accusations as false and misogynistic. Moriarty also referenced past instances of dealing with online trolls and received support from Eric Kripke, creator of “The Boys,” who condemned the behavior of those criticizing her.
Representatives for Megyn Kelly did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
Moriarty’s experience sheds light on the damaging impact of online bullying and underscores the importance of addressing false accusations and harassment in the public sphere.
