Comedian Nikki Glaser reacted to the news that Gisele Bündchen wasn’t happy with the jokes about her during Tom Brady’s roast on Netflix. On Sunday, the roast included several jabs about Brady’s ex-wife, and Bündchen, which didn’t sit well with the Brazilian supermodel.
A report from Page Six on Tuesday suggested that Bündchen was “hurt all over again” by the roast, particularly because Brady had stopped Jeffrey Ross from telling a joke about Patriots owner Robert Kraft’s massage parlor scandal, while allowing jokes about Bündchen to continue.
When asked by TMZ about the criticism surrounding the jokes about Bündchen, Glaser playfully said, “I love her so much, but I feel like she’s been roasting me by just existing — she’s so hot — so I felt like she had it coming. Not really, I didn’t go hard on her.”
Despite the roast’s harshness, Glaser hoped that she could one day smooth things over with Bündchen. She mentioned that she would apologize to Bündchen if they ever meet, but added, “we had to go there — it was a roast.”
People Magazine also reported that Bündchen was “deeply disappointed” by the roast jokes. Glaser had cracked, “You have seven rings. Well, eight now that Gisele gave hers back.” Kevin Hart also got in on the roast, referencing Bündchen’s rumored relationship with her jiujitsu instructor.
Given the backlash, Glaser’s light-hearted approach and desire to make amends may be the right move.
