At the SBC Summit North America, a prominent gambling industry conference, executives weighed in on the future of internet casino gambling. While legal in just a handful of states, industry leaders see it as the inevitable direction for betting, despite concerns about its impact on traditional casinos.
Elizabeth Suever, a vice president at Bally’s Corporation, pointed out that millennials, in particular, are comfortable managing much of their lives through their smartphones, indicating a shift towards online gaming.
However, progress has been slow. Currently, only seven states allow legal online casino games, with Nevada limiting its online offerings to poker. In contrast, nearly 38 states and Washington D.C. have legalized sports betting, predominantly online via mobile devices.
