Stray Kids, the sensational K-pop group, is set to take center stage at the upcoming British Summer Festival 2024, injecting an international flavor into this prestigious event. With their latest album, “5-Star,” securing a top spot on the charts, the eight-member South Korean sensation will deliver an exclusive UK performance on Sunday, July 14.
Expressing their excitement, Stray Kids conveyed in a statement, “To all our UK STAYs – we cannot wait to see you at BST Hyde Park! This is our first time performing at a UK festival, and it is such an honor to play in Hyde Park where so many legends have played before us. Come dance with us!”
Jim King, the CEO of European Festivals at AEG Presents, shared his enthusiasm about having Stray Kids join the festival lineup, stating, “We’re so excited to welcome international superstars Stray Kids to BST Hyde Park in July for the first time! We’re honored to bring Stray Kids to the stage in 2024, as this genre only continues to grow from strength to strength.”
Stray Kids joins the stellar cast of headliners, including Andrea Bocelli on July 5 and pop icon Robbie Williams on July 6, with more exciting artist announcements expected soon.
Originally discovered on a popular reality show under the entertainment company JYP, Stray Kids made their mark with the debut EP, “I Am Not,” in March 2019. Following up with albums like “Go Live” in 2020 and the chart-topping “5-Star,” the group has solidified their global popularity. Notably, “5-Star” marked their third consecutive No. 1 album in the US, boasting the biggest opening sales week of any 2023 album since Taylor Swift’s “Midnights.”
Robbie Williams, headlining BST one year after Take That’s stint, is anticipated to treat the audience to a nostalgic journey through his extensive solo career on Saturday, July 6. Expect iconic hits like “Angels,” “Millennium,” and “Rock DJ” to feature prominently, making his performance a must-see for fans.
