Law Firm Seeks to Withdraw From a Long-Running Case Defending Trump

LaRocca Hornik, a law firm known for its representation of Donald Trump’s political endeavors and businesses in various legal battles, has suddenly requested to withdraw from a longstanding case citing an irreparable breakdown in the attorney-client relationship. The firm has been involved in multiple lawsuits on behalf of Trump since his initial presidential campaign, securing settlements and dismissals while billing nearly $3 million.

The timing of this withdrawal request is noteworthy, coming just after a federal court ordered the campaign to hand over complaints of sexual harassment and discrimination from the 2016 and 2020 campaigns. The lead lawyer, Jared Blumetti, did not provide specific details about the dispute but sought permission to discuss it privately with the judge.

This move adds to the legal challenges facing Trump, including an ongoing criminal trial and civil lawsuits. LaRocca Hornik’s withdrawal raises questions about the future of their relationship with Trump, especially considering previous lawyers who have distanced themselves from representing him.

Despite objections from the plaintiff, A.J. Delgado, who is representing herself, the court ruled that LaRocca Hornik must continue representing the campaign for the time being. The firm has a history of representing Trump’s business interests and has been compensated generously for its services.

In addition to Delgado’s case, the firm is still involved in representing the campaign in another lawsuit filed by Jessica Denson. However, there’s no indication of a desire to end the legal relationship in that matter.

Overall, this development underscores the complexity and uncertainty surrounding Trump’s legal affairs, with implications for both his past and future legal battles.
