Liz Truss attacks Biden and fake Conservatives as she rants to half-empty crowd at US right-wing conference

Liz Truss has voiced her frustration with Joe Biden and certain Tory party members, suggesting their actions contributed to the backlash that led to her brief tenure as UK prime minister.

Addressing the Conservative Political Action Conference (Cpac), Truss, who served for just 49 days, criticized individuals she labeled as “Conservative In Name Only” (CINO), a term reminiscent of Trump’s “Republican In Name Only” (RINO) phrase.

She attributed her political downfall to various factors, including quangos, bureaucrats, and lawyers, echoing some of the rhetoric commonly heard from former president Donald Trump. Truss also pointed to the negative reception of her 2022 mini-budget, which she claims was influenced by entities such as the media, corporate world, and even Joe Biden.

Truss accused the left of undermining the Conservative-led British government, drawing comparisons to Trump’s allegations of a “stolen” US election. She stressed the importance of having a Republican leader in the White House to counter adversaries like Russia, Iran, and China.

Truss’ remarks at Cpac follow Boris Johnson’s recent endorsement of Trump in his Daily Mail column, indicating a continued alignment between certain elements of the Tory party and Trump’s political ideology.
