South Dakota Governor’s Memoir Sparks Controversy with Allegations against Nikki Haley
Revelations from South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem’s upcoming memoir have stirred up controversy, particularly regarding claims about former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley.
Noem’s book, “No Going Back,” includes a dubious anecdote alleging a meeting with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un, which her spokesperson later suggested would be corrected by the publisher.
Additionally, an excerpt obtained by Playbook details an encounter between Noem and Haley, where Noem portrays Haley’s outreach as a veiled threat. However, Haley’s spokesperson clarified that the call took place in 2020, not 2021, and was meant as supportive during a challenging time for Noem.
The memoir also highlights differences between the two Republican women, particularly in their responses to the January 6 Capitol assault. Noem portrays herself as a supporter of Donald Trump, while Haley is depicted as distancing herself from the former president.
These revelations have drawn attention and scrutiny as the release date of the memoir approaches.
