Nicole Eggert, known for her role in “Baywatch,” recently shared an update on her health journey. Just weeks after revealing her breast cancer diagnosis, she disclosed that cancer has been found in her lymph nodes.
In an interview with Inside Edition, Eggert expressed regret for not conducting self-exams more frequently, acknowledging that it could have led to an earlier detection. She also attributed the difficulty in detecting the cancer to the breast implants she got as a teenager.
Reflecting on the moment she received her diagnosis of stage 2 cribriform carcinoma, Eggert described feeling her heart drop and experiencing a sense of sinking. The news was especially challenging for her, considering the thought of leaving behind her daughters, Keegan, 12, and Dilyn, 25, for whom she is the primary caregiver.
Eggert emphasized the determination to overcome her diagnosis, recognizing the importance of being there for her children. She openly expressed regret about her decision to undergo breast augmentation as a teenager, describing it as a “stupid 18-year-old decision” influenced partly by societal pressure, especially in the entertainment industry.
Despite the challenges she faces, Eggert remains resolute in her determination to fight the disease. Her candidness about her journey serves as a reminder of the importance of self-care and early detection, as well as the impact of societal beauty standards on individual decisions regarding body modification.
