On AirBnB, you can now stay in Prince’s house from ‘Purple Rain’.

Prince’s iconic Minneapolis house, famously featured in the film “Purple Rain,” will soon be available to rent on Airbnb for a year. This unique opportunity is part of Airbnb’s new offering called Icons, which features extraordinary experiences hosted by renowned figures from various fields including music, film, television, art, and sports. Among the first 11 experiences released by Airbnb, Prince’s Purple Rain home stands out as a highlight.

To mark the 40th anniversary of the legendary album and film, Prince’s restored home, located in Minneapolis, Minnesota, will be open to the public for the first time exclusively on Airbnb. Guests will have the chance to explore the iconic residence and immerse themselves in the world of Prince, including access to an exclusive studio session featuring rare and special tracks from his catalog.

Brian Chesky, Airbnb’s co-founder and CEO, expressed excitement about the Icons initiative, stating that it aims to bring extraordinary experiences from the digital realm into the real world. Icons experiences are prominently featured on Airbnb’s homepage, with most being free or priced under $100 USD per guest. Guests can request bookings through the app, and those selected will receive a digital golden ticket.

Fans of the music legend can start requesting bookings for the Purple Rain house from August 1st. The film “Purple Rain,” released in 1984, marked Prince’s acting debut and served as a showcase for his musical talents. Directed by Albert Magnoli, the film features Prince as ‘The Kid,’ navigating the music scene while dealing with personal struggles.

Prince purchased the home used in the film eight months before his passing, adding to its significance for fans. The “Purple Rain” soundtrack, featuring hit singles like “When Doves Cry” and “Let’s Go Crazy,” achieved critical and commercial success, earning multiple platinum certifications and selling over 25 million copies worldwide.

Overall, the opportunity to stay in Prince’s iconic Purple Rain house offers fans a unique and immersive experience, celebrating the legacy of one of music’s most iconic figures.
