The launch of the Motorola X50 Ultra, previously teased as “coming soon,” is inching closer as the device recently received approval from TENAA, the Chinese regulatory agency. This listing provides a glimpse into the phone’s design and specifications through live photos and some key details.
The X50 Ultra, essentially the Chinese variant of the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra, is set to offer some additional features tailored for the local market, with a strong emphasis on AI capabilities in its marketing campaign.
Images from TENAA showcase the black variant of the phone, which appears to feature a vegan leather back (known as Forest Gray in the West). The device dimensions measure approximately 161.0 x 72.4 x 8.5mm, weighing in at 197g, mirroring the dimensions of the Edge 50 Ultra.
Both models are expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and pack a 4,500mAh battery (rated at 4,365mAh) with support for 125W fast charging. While 50W wireless charging is also anticipated, this detail was not included in the listing.
Key highlights of the X50 Ultra include its curved 6.7″ OLED display and the presence of a 3x periscope lens on the rear, featuring a distinctive lens design and housing a 64MP sensor.
In terms of memory options, the X50 Ultra is expected to offer expanded choices compared to its Edge counterpart. TENAA’s listing suggests that users will have the flexibility to select from RAM configurations ranging between 8GB and a whopping 18GB, along with storage capacities ranging from 128GB to 1TB.
Although Motorola has yet to announce an official launch date for the X50 series, further updates will be provided as soon as more information becomes available.
