Sam Asghari and Britney Spears are officially divorced and single.

Britney Spears and Sam Asghari have officially ended their marriage, marking both as officially single individuals.

The dissolution of their union was confirmed by a Los Angeles County judge on Friday, bringing closure nearly two years after their wedding.

The judgment was made shortly after the pop icon, aged 42, and her partner, a 30-year-old model and actor, informed the court of their divorce settlement. This resolution came on the heels of Spears reaching a legal agreement with her father regarding ongoing matters related to her conservatorship, just a week prior.

Court documents filed on Thursday and Friday indicated that the couple had come to terms on asset division, though specifics were not disclosed publicly. Notably, neither party will receive spousal support, contrary to Asghari’s initial petition, which had included a request for financial assistance. Any future disagreements will be subject to private arbitration.

Spears and Asghari went their separate ways in July, with Asghari formally filing for divorce the following month. Their relationship had spanned seven years prior to their separation.

The absence of children meant that no custody arrangements were necessary. However, Spears revealed in her memoir, published last year, that she and Asghari had experienced a miscarriage shortly before their marriage.

Legal representatives for both Spears and Asghari did not immediately respond to requests for comment or further details.

Their wedding in June 2022, attended by notable figures such as Selena Gomez, Drew Barrymore, Paris Hilton, and Madonna, was perceived as a significant milestone in Spears’ post-conservatorship life. However, the couple’s split occurred just over a year later.

Last week, Spears and her father, Jamie Spears, resolved outstanding issues stemming from the conservatorship, avoiding a potentially lengthy and contentious trial scheduled to commence later this month.

Spears has largely remained silent about the divorce publicly, though she did address it briefly in an Instagram post following the filing. In her memoir, she speaks positively of Asghari, describing his supportive presence during pivotal moments, such as remotely addressing a judge during her conservatorship hearings.

Asghari cited irreconcilable differences as the grounds for divorce, a common reason in California.

For Spears, this was her third marriage, with her previous marriage to Kevin Federline resulting in two sons. She also had a brief marriage to childhood friend Jason Alexander in 2004. Asghari, a model and actor, met Spears when he appeared in her music video for “Slumber Party” in 2016. Their engagement was announced in September 2021.

While Spears has continued to release music since the end of her conservatorship, she has not performed live in several years and has expressed no plans for future performances or album releases.
