Siân Heder, the acclaimed filmmaker behind the Oscar-winning film ‘CODA’ in 2022, has officially been tapped to direct Paramount Pictures’ adaptation of Gabrielle Zevin’s bestselling novel, ‘Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow’.
Joining forces with Heder on this project are producers Marty Bowen, Wyck Godfrey, and Isaac Klausner of Temple Hill Productions, known for their success in bringing literary works to the big screen.
‘Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow’ is a contemporary love story set against the backdrop of the video game industry, spanning three decades. The narrative follows the intertwined lives of Sam and Sadie, childhood friends who reconnect as adults and navigate the challenges of fame and success in a competitive industry.
With themes of identity, ambition, and the complexities of human connection, the novel explores the profound impact of creative pursuits and the enduring quest for love and acceptance.
Published in 2022, Zevin’s novel quickly gained widespread acclaim, earning a spot on numerous bestseller lists and garnering praise from critics and readers alike. Its commercial success, with over 2.8 million copies sold worldwide, underscores its enduring appeal and cultural significance.
Screenwriter Mark Bomback adapted the novel into a screenplay, building on Zevin’s original vision. Zevin herself will serve as an executive producer on the project, ensuring the integrity of her story is preserved in the cinematic adaptation.
Heder, known for her work on acclaimed television shows such as ‘Orange is the New Black’, ‘GLOW’, and ‘Little America’, has proven her talent behind the camera with her feature directorial debut, ‘Tallulah’. However, it was her groundbreaking work on ‘CODA’ that solidified her reputation as a visionary filmmaker.
Premiering at the Sundance Film Festival, ‘CODA’ made history by winning all four major awards and later went on to win the Academy Award for Best Picture, among other accolades. Heder’s nomination for Best Director further underscored her talent and impact on the industry.
Both Heder and Zevin are represented by top agencies CAA, with Zevin additionally represented by Sterling Lord Literistic.
With Heder at the helm and Zevin’s captivating story as the foundation, ‘Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow’ promises to be a cinematic experience that resonates with audiences worldwide.
