Slipknot, the iconic Iowa-based nu metal band, is gearing up for an extensive tour across North America to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their self-titled debut album. This tour, dubbed “Here Comes The Pain,” promises to be a thrilling experience for fans as the band takes the stage in multiple headline shows and festivals across the US and Canada from August to September. Alongside Slipknot, metalcore stars Knocked Loose, melodeath favorites Orbit Culture, and nu metal up-and-comers Vended will be joining the lineup, ensuring a diverse and electrifying musical experience for concert-goers.
The announcement of the tour comes on the heels of Slipknot’s revelation of their first US Slipknot celebration show, Knotfest Iowa, scheduled for September in their hometown of Des Moines. This one-day festival will feature an impressive lineup including Knocked Loose, Vended, Hatebreed, Poison The Well, Gwar, and more, promising a day of intense music and memorable performances.
Prior to their North American tour, Slipknot will be embarking on a tour of the UK and Europe in December, further solidifying their global presence and reaffirming their status as one of the most influential metal bands of all time. The anticipation for these tours is heightened by the recent announcement of Eloy Casagrande as Slipknot’s new drummer. Casagrande, known for his exceptional drumming skills with Brazilian metal band Sepultura, officially joined Slipknot earlier this year, replacing Jay Weinberg.
While Slipknot percussionist Shawn “Clown” Crahan has hinted at the possibility of performing the entire Slipknot album live during the European shows, it remains to be seen whether the band will undertake a similar endeavor for the North American leg of the tour. Nevertheless, fans can expect nothing short of an electrifying and unforgettable experience as Slipknot takes to the stage to celebrate a quarter-century of groundbreaking music and unwavering passion for metal.
