Take-Two Reportedly Shutting Down OlliOlli And Kerbal Space Program 2 Devs

Unfortunately, the gaming industry has seen a significant increase in job losses this year, and it appears that this trend will continue. Bloomberg has reported that two more studios are facing closure, adding to the record amount of layoffs.

Take-Two Interactive Software is shutting down its Private Division and London-based subsidiary Roll7, known for games like OlliOlli and Rollerdrome. Additionally, Intercept Games, the developer behind Kerbal Space Program 2 and based in Seattle, is also facing closure.

Roll7 employees were informed of the closure through internal documentation, with Take-Two offering severance agreements to staff. Intercept Games’ closure was revealed through a notice filed with the Washington State Employment Security Department, indicating the elimination of 70 jobs.

Despite the closures, Take-Two’s vice president for communications stated that updates for Kerbal Space Program 2 will continue to be released.

These layoffs add to a series of similar incidents within the industry this year, ranging from major layoffs at companies like Microsoft and Sony to project cancellations at smaller studios.
