A video showing a woman sleeping in the overhead compartment of a plane has sparked widespread attention on social media. The incident reportedly occurred on a Southwest Airlines flight and quickly gained traction after being shared on TikTok, accumulating over five million views. The footage, later circulated on other platforms, captured the woman comfortably stretched out in the luggage storage area, prompting a mix of confusion and amusement among fellow passengers.
While some speculated about the woman’s identity and how she managed to access the overhead compartment, others humorously commented on the situation. Southwest Airlines, however, has not issued a response regarding the incident.
This isn’t the first time such an unusual occurrence has happened. A similar incident involving a passenger sleeping in the overhead bin was reported on a Ryanair flight to Ibiza in 2023. In another instance in 2019, a Southwest Airlines flight attendant climbed into the bin as part of a playful gesture during boarding at Nashville International Airport.
Southwest Airlines clarified that such actions are not part of their standard procedures and emphasized that safety remains their top priority.
