Introducing MeTV Toons, a new national television network brought to you by Weigel Broadcasting Co. in collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery. This exciting venture is dedicated solely to classic animation, spanning from Hollywood-era shorts to beloved made-for-television favorites.

Launching on June 25, 2024, MeTV Toons will be a haven for cartoon enthusiasts, offering a curated selection of iconic characters that have captured the hearts of audiences for generations. From Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck to Scooby Doo and Tom & Jerry, the network will feature a roster of timeless classics that have defined the animation landscape.

In addition to Warner Bros. properties, MeTV Toons will also showcase beloved characters such as Rocky and Bullwinkle, Woody Woodpecker, Casper, Betty Boop, Speed Racer, and more. With multi-platform distribution across over-the-air broadcast television, traditional MVPDs, and virtual MVPDs, viewers can enjoy their favorite cartoons on various devices and streaming services.

Neal Sabin, vice-chairman of Weigel Broadcasting Co., expressed excitement about the collaboration, stating, “MeTV Toons will be dedicated 24/7 to showcasing the biggest names and most beloved classic cartoons and animated characters. Everyone has a favorite cartoon, and we are thrilled to bring those smiles and memories back to TV with MeTV Toons.”

David Decker, president of content sales for Warner Bros. Discovery, commended the partnership, emphasizing the joy of having iconic animated characters available in one place. “Having some of the Studio’s most iconic animated characters all available in one place is not only great for fans of classic animation, but also just super fun!” he remarked.

Joining the MeTV Toons team are animation expert Jerry Beck and renowned voice actor Bob Bergen. Beck, known for his extensive knowledge of American animation, will contribute to producing original content that enhances the viewing experience. Meanwhile, Bergen, celebrated for his work voicing Warner Bros. characters like Porky Pig and Tweety, will serve as the signature voice of the network.

Beck assured viewers that MeTV Toons is not just another Boomerang, promising a nostalgic experience akin to the early days of Cartoon Network but on a much grander scale. He revealed plans to delve into the vaults of major studios like Sony and Universal to unearth classic TV shows and animations, making them accessible to audiences once again.

With its impressive lineup of classic cartoons and dedicated team of experts, MeTV Toons is poised to become a beloved destination for fans of animation old and new.
