David Pastrnak sent the crowd into a frenzy at TD Garden on Saturday night.
After a series of lackluster performances against the Toronto Maple Leafs, Bruins coach Jim Montgomery issued a challenge to Pastrnak—and he delivered in a big way. In Game 7, Pastrnak scored a slick overtime goal that clinched a 2-1 win, along with a first-round series victory for Boston. He took a beautiful pass from Hampus Lindholm and beat Ilya Samsonov to secure the win for the Black and Gold.
The moment Pastrnak scored, his teammates swarmed him, celebrating wildly after securing their spot in the second round. A mic’d-up video from ice level captured the sheer joy and excitement of Montgomery’s team when Pastrnak scored.
Boston didn’t have much time to bask in its series win over Toronto. The Bruins headed to Florida on Sunday to prepare for their second-round matchup against the Panthers, who had a much easier time in Round 1, defeating the Tampa Bay Lightning.
The Atlantic Division rivals will start their next series on Monday night at Amerant Bank Arena. Game 1 begins at 8 p.m. ET.
