Join Nick Smith from the AI startup Sailes as he takes the stage on May 9 during Philly Tech Week 2024, presented by Comcast.
Nick Smith isn’t just a builder; he’s also passionate about helping others build. As the President, CEO, and founder of the machine learning startup Sailes, he understands the importance of collaboration in driving innovation. Smith believes that technology is most effective when it facilitates better and more efficient connections among people.
At the Technical.ly Builders Conference, part of Philly Tech Week 2024, Smith will be participating in a Lightning Talks session titled “How do innovation ecosystems tell their story (honestly)?” at 2 p.m.
We caught up with Smith to learn about his experiences with the Comcast NBCUniversal LIFT Labs accelerator program and what he’s looking forward to at the event.
How did participating in the Comcast NBCUniversal LIFT Labs accelerator program benefit you as a founder and your company as a whole?
Running a company can sometimes feel like being on an island. The LIFT Labs accelerator program provided immediate value by connecting me with other founders facing similar challenges. Being able to collaborate with peers in a mutually beneficial space was a game-changer for Sailes. Additionally, gaining access to decision-makers tackling real business problems and insights into global enterprises leveraging AI gave us a competitive edge.
How does Sailes contribute to the local tech ecosystem?
Sailes is deeply embedded in our local tech community, from sharing office space with leading local venture capitalists to participating in startup events and mentoring opportunities. We prioritize engagement with our local community and contribute wherever we can.
What sets Sailes apart in its approach to using AI to support enterprise organizations?
Sailes developed the first AI tailored specifically for sales professionals, capable of automating the entire prospecting lifecycle. What’s unique is that we started building this AI in 2019 when fully autonomous workflows were unprecedented. Our solution stands out by offering a single product that replaces multiple point solutions, independent of a company’s existing systems or infrastructure. This flexibility, combined with our expertise, has fueled adoption at Fortune 1000 and Fortune 50 enterprises.
What are you looking forward to at the Builders Conference on May 9?
I’m excited to share Sailes’ story at the conference, but more importantly, I’m eager to connect with fellow builders. The opportunity to exchange ideas, ask questions, and build relationships with like-minded individuals is invaluable for innovation. I can’t wait to engage with our peers and be part of this vibrant community.
Is there anything else you’d like people to know about you and Sailes ahead of Philly Tech Week?
Sailes is proudly American, founded on the Fourth of July in 2018 with the mission to liberate sales reps from manual prospecting. Philadelphia is the perfect place to share our journey and connect with others who are shaping the future.
