Aces reach deals with Megan Gustafson, Kiah Stokes

The Las Vegas Aces, reigning champions of the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA), are reinforcing their roster with the signing of two prominent centers, Kiah Stokes and Megan Gustafson. Both players inked two-year deals with the team, adding depth and skill to an already formidable lineup.

Kiah Stokes, a 6-foot-3 center, brings experience and versatility to the Aces’ frontcourt. Having previously played for the New York Liberty, Stokes joined Las Vegas in 2021 and quickly established herself as a key contributor. Known for her rebounding prowess and defensive acumen, Stokes played a significant role in the Aces’ consecutive championship victories. Last season, she stepped up in the absence of Candace Parker, starting in 22 games and making crucial contributions on both ends of the court.

Megan Gustafson, a former Naismith Player of the Year winner from Iowa, joins the Aces after stints with multiple WNBA teams. With career-high averages of 7.9 points and 3.9 rebounds per game in 2023, Gustafson brings scoring ability and energy to the team’s frontline. Her addition provides valuable depth and gives the Aces another scoring threat off the bench.

The signings of Stokes and Gustafson underscore the Aces’ commitment to maintaining their championship-caliber roster. With star players like A’ja Wilson, Kelsey Plum, and Chelsea Gray already on the roster, the Aces are well-positioned to pursue a historic three-peat in the upcoming season. The return of Candace Parker, if finalized, would further strengthen the team’s title aspirations.

The Aces’ success in securing these signings reflects their status as a premier destination for top talent in the WNBA. By bolstering their roster with experienced players like Stokes and Gustafson, the Aces aim to build upon their recent success and continue their dominance in the league.

As the WNBA offseason progresses, fans eagerly anticipate the start of the new season, where they will witness the Aces’ pursuit of another championship and the impact of their latest acquisitions on the court.
