Drax Actor Addresses Rumors Of Joining James Gunn’s DC Universe – “I’d Do It For Free”

Dave Bautista, renowned for his portrayal of Drax the Destroyer in the Guardians of the Galaxy films, sheds light on the speculations surrounding his potential involvement in James Gunn’s DC Universe.

As James Gunn embarks on his DC Studios journey alongside Peter Safran, Bautista, a longtime collaborator with Gunn in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), discusses the prospects of joining the DC franchise. Despite Gunn’s departure from Marvel Studios, he continues his superhero endeavors in the DC Universe, notably with the upcoming Superman: Legacy film featuring David Corenswet as the new Man of Steel.

In a recent conversation with Comic Book, Bautista was queried about his potential induction into the WWE Hall of Fame or his participation in Gunn’s DC Universe. While envisioning an entry into the WWE Hall of Fame due to logistical considerations, Bautista expresses keenness to reunite with Gunn. Whether within the DC Universe or elsewhere, the Guardians of the Galaxy star underscores his admiration for James Gunn, emphasizing their invaluable camaraderie. Bautista affirms, “I’d do it for free,” showcasing his eagerness to collaborate with Gunn, although he clarifies that specific discussions regarding the DC Universe haven’t taken place yet.

Despite uncertainties, Bautista maintains an open-minded stance, expressing respect for Gunn’s work and indicating his readiness to embark on future projects together. As Gunn takes charge at DC, Bautista’s enthusiasm for potential collaborations reflects the strong bond they share in the realm of filmmaking.
