Per report, Raiders expected to hire former Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury as offensive coordinator

The Las Vegas Raiders have made a significant move in their coaching staff, reportedly set to hire Kliff Kingsbury, the former head coach of the Arizona Cardinals, as their new offensive coordinator. This decision follows an extensive search process that involved interviewing other prominent candidates, including Chip Kelly from UCLA.

Kingsbury, 44, has been a highly sought-after coach this offseason, with reports indicating that he has met with multiple teams for similar coaching roles. After serving as an offensive analyst at USC, Kingsbury is poised to bring his expertise to the Raiders’ offensive strategy. While his tenure with the Cardinals had its ups and downs, including a playoff appearance in 2021, his past successes at Texas Tech and Texas A&M make him an appealing choice for Las Vegas.

The Raiders’ decision to bring in Kingsbury comes after Antonio Pierce filled in as an interim coach last season. While Pierce made significant improvements to the team’s defense, the offense struggled, ranking among the league’s worst in yards and points per game. With Kingsbury now on board, the Raiders are hoping to revitalize their offensive performance and address the challenges they faced last season.

As the Raiders navigate the offseason, they have several key decisions to make, including determining their starting quarterback and negotiating player contracts. However, securing Kingsbury’s services is seen as a major step forward for the team as they aim to improve their offensive production and compete at a higher level in the upcoming season.

Overall, the addition of Kliff Kingsbury to the Raiders’ coaching staff represents a significant move that could have a positive impact on the team’s performance in the coming season. With his experience and track record of success, Kingsbury brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the role of offensive coordinator, providing the Raiders with an opportunity to elevate their offense and achieve greater success on the field.
