Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice is facing more legal trouble. According to Dallas TV station WFAA, Rice is under investigation for allegedly hitting a photographer at a nightclub in Dallas early Monday morning.
Dallas police confirmed the investigation, with USA TODAY Sports’ Cydney Henderson reporting that officers responded to a call about an assault at around 2:30 a.m. The preliminary investigation revealed that a victim claimed they were assaulted by Rice in the 600 block of North Harwood Street. The victim later went to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Rice has already been in legal trouble this year, having faced eight felony counts after a high-speed, multi-car crash on a Dallas expressway in March. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and Chiefs head coach Andy Reid have both indicated they will allow the legal process to run its course before commenting further on Rice’s situation.
Rice could face a suspension under the NFL’s personal conduct policy, which generally waits until court proceedings are completed before taking any action.
